Finding Your Voice:
Our Journey with Cancer through the Health Care System

Patients and their families are key members of the health care team.

What they find challenging are:

  • How do they become active participants in their health care?
  • How do they ask their providers questions?
  • What questions do they ask?
  • How do they deal with barriers that arise?
  • How do they advocate or speak up for themselves?

Finding Your Voice is a guide to dealing with the above challenges based on the first-hand experiences of the author.

This book focuses on:

  • Knowing your rights as a patient in the health care system.
  • Finding accurate information about health concerns.
  • Finding your voice to become an active participant in your health care.
  • Charting your own course to be involved in your health care decisions.
